Para quem curte um bom maltado, as palavras do poeta tomam forma e o espírito se incorpora na casa recém aberta em Pinheiros, São Paulo.

O Caledonia Whisky & Co tem o charme intimista moderno com um toque de “speak easy” da época da lei seca, com drinks incríveis, autorais e clássicos, comidinhas saborosas e uma sobremesa “to Die for”.

Os donos Guilherme Valle e Mauricio Porto buscaram homenagear a bebida de vários países, sendo o local definido pelo próprio Maurício, em seu blog como “Um bar totalmente voltado para a cultura do whisky em São Paulo. O Caledonia Whisky & Co…. Ele é o Cão Engarrafado materializado.”

A casa reúne mais de cento e trinta whiskies, com réguas de degustação temáticas de blends que vão do Bells ao Macallan Reflexion e Glenlivet Code.

Os drinks vão dos clássicos (ex. Manhattan) a coquetéis autorais criadas pelo vencedor do Patrón Perfeccionists Rodolfo Bob, Estes que contam a história do whisky: dos monges ibéricos, passando pela lei seca até a modernidade.

Nessa viagem, veja a atração de abrir um livro com o cantil escondido, a mágica da transformação da pirâmide de gelo e a mística de combinar o sabor do whisky americano com uma espuma de cacau.

Ressaltamos dentre os drinks, o JOHN COR (base Talisker), o defumado PENICILLIN (feito com Port Charlotte Scottish Barley) e o KING JAMES (Irish Whiskey, manteiga de garrafa, Blend de vermutes, vinho madeira e PX e queijo Grana Padano com um jamón Ibérico “on the side”).

A casa bem frequentada também não deixa a desejar na parte de alimentos: o scotch egg/ bolovo com aioli e geleia de pimenta estava picante na medida certa (R$ 9,00). Provamos um delicado cordeiro com legumes e um fondant de chocolate de comer rezando.

Finalizando com uma citação de Joel Rosenberg “Tudo que eu quero é sono suficiente para dois homens normais, whisky suficiente para três, e mulheres suficientes para quatro.” … Bom, Joel, lá você poderá ter whisky para quantos quiser!

Horários: A loja funciona segunda à sábado, do meio-dia às 18h. O bar de terça à sábado das 18h às 0-1h.
Preço: Os coquetéis custam de R$ 27 a R$ 50 (R$ 33, em média) e Preço das doses de R$ 11 ou R$ 21 (single malts) até R$ 100. Pratos em torno de R$ 55.
